Until now, Tramontina had only headquarters and distribution space in the region, both on a 26-acre tract at 12955 W. Airport Blvd. in the Sugar Land Business Park. A fast-tracked construction schedule will bring the plant on line in the fall on the same tract.EE Reed Construction LP of Sugar Land is the general contractor. Powers Brown Architecture of Houston designed it.

Jennifer Raymond, senior vice president for the Greater Fort Bend Economic Development Council, says 100 jobs will be added in the coming year by the manufacturer and marketer of Brazilian and Italian cookware and cutlery, with a distribution network that includes Williams-Sonoma Inc., Macy's, Wal-Mart Stores Inc., Costco, Sam's Club and Ace Hardware.
