SAN DIEGO-Industry veterans John Ed Easley and Greg Anderson are continuing to build up their multifamily real estate company known as Crown Pacific Properties LLC, which they established in town last November. They have recently created the role of senior vice president and CFO here, a position that has been filled by new executive Wendy Godoy. An industry heavyweight herself, Godoy has more than 20 years of experience in the real estate industry. She previously worked with Trizec R&E Inc. in San Diego, where she handled all financial matters during her 16 years with the firm. Her assignments involved billions of dollars worth of dispositions, acquisitions, financing and joint-venture structuring. Her positions at Trizec included assistant corporate controller, development controller, operations controller and most recently, senior vice president and CFO. Recently divested of all its retail assets, Trizec had developed 65 regional and super regional shopping centers encompassing more than 50 million sf combined. Company officials at Crown Pacific feel that Godoy is a natural match for their firm because of her extensive experience. “She’s a mature executive who has accomplished a lot in this business,” says John Ed Easley, Crown Pacific’s president and CEO. “We wanted someone who could make a difference and make us better and do that from day one,” Easley explains to GlobeSt.com, adding that Godoy is a “perfect fit” with Crown Pacific. From Godoy’s perspective, it was “the people and the business plan” that attracted her to Crown Pacific. In her role as senior vice president and CFO here, “she’s responsible for all the financial areas of the company,” according to Easley, who says Godoy’s duties include managing relationships with the firm’s lenders and soliciting debt, as well as overseeing insurance requirements.
