SAN FRANCISCO-The Kenneth Ting family of Hong Kong has named locally based Broderick Advisors LLC as the asset manager of the family’s interest in the Resort at Squaw Creek, a year-round 404-room luxury resort adjacent to the Squaw Valley ski area near Lake Tahoe. The resort is about to undergo a $25-million renovation that will take five years to complete. Broderick Associates is a newly formed asset management and investment advisory. Its principal, Christopher Keane, formerly served as a manager in the Los Angeles office of PKF Consulting and also served as head of development for both Woodside Hotels and Larkspur Hospitality in Northern California. Most recently, Keane was part of the Santa Barbara, CA-based Leider Group, the resort’s previous asset manager. The Resort at Squaw Creek is a AAA four diamond rated resort offering exclusive on-property chair lift access to Squaw Valley’s ski terrain, 25,000 sf of conference meeting space and a Robert Trent Jones Jr. designed championship golf course. Broderick Advisors will provide oversight of the resort operation, the renovation, and the development of condominium units and home sites in the area. Keane tells GlobeSt.com the $100-million resort property is “the first big catch” to get his new business up and running. Keane will be working with Destination Hotels & Resorts and Destination Development Co., which were hired in April to manage the resort and future development projects at the resort. Affiliates of the Ting family own a 90% interest in Squaw Creek Associates, the owner of the Resort at Squaw Creek and related properties. An affiliate of Lowe Hospitality Group recently acquired the remaining 10% interest.
