LONDON-Cushman & Wakefield’s investment management business in Europe has received a boost with the acquisition of Fountain Capital Partners. Based in Paris and London, FCP was formerly controlled by Catella but it is now owned by the three founding partners, Erik Sondén, David Rendall and Robert Campbell, following a management buyout.FCP advises TIAA on its portfolio in France, Belgium and Spain. Despite its weight in other areas, Cushman & Wakefield has been a relatively minor player in European investment management, with £1.5 billion ($2.8 billion) of assets under management in the UK for pension funds, charities and family trusts.FCP partner Sondén says: “We will be leveraging off C&W/H&B’s research and strong pan-European platform and global reach to facilitate the development of new business, such as closed end funds, for a number of our investor clients. We will continue to focus on our separate account mandate from TIAA-Cref with whom we made our first acquisition in Paris and for whom we are currently negotiating acquisitions in France and Belgium.”
