The condos, about 250 on 29 acres being built by Detroit-area developer Phoenix Land Development, are to be located on the former site of the Utica Packing Plant. The old slaughterhouse was torn down about a month ago to make way for the condominiums. The condos will sell in a range from $150,000 to $200,000.

In July, the Utica city council will consider a request to allow for the redevelopment of a small office building, along Hall Road. The owner is seeking approval to build closer to the property line that allowed under zoning law for the 3,850-sf building.
