Food Bank Grows Into 87,000-SF Facility

HALETHORPE, MD -A new facility for the Maryland Food Bank is expected to make a big difference in efforts to feed those in need in surrounding counties. The non-profit organization–which serves five major subsidiary distribution centers–has moved into an 87,000-sf warehouse that it acquired from Iron City Slash & Door Co. last month for $3.8 million.

Real estate services firm Cassidy & Pinkard represented both the seller and the buyer. With the help of the state and local donors, Food Bank officials are spending $3 million more to outfit and build-out the property, which also came with an additional three-acre parcel.
