Demolition Begins at Aventura Condo Site

AVENTURA, FL-The site, where three Cigarette boat warehouses were located, will house a 192-unit luxury, waterfront project consisting of two 11-story towers. The groundbreaking is planned for this summer.AVENTURA, FL-Demolition has begun at the future site of the Atrium at Aventura, a luxury condominium project planned for here. The site of three Cigarette boat warehouses on Northeast 188th Street will become home to the two 11-story condominium towers after a rezoning move allowed residential development on the street.VenAventura LLC is the Atrium’s developer and Suffolk Construction Co., based in Boston, is overseeing the demolition. This phase is expected to take three to four weeks. After that, contractors plan to break ground this summer. The project, which will offer one-, two- and three-bedroom units from the $360,000s, is scheduled to be completed in 2006.The estimated $40-million boutique condo project will have 192 waterfront residences. On-site amenities will include a boardwalk, an infinity-edge waterfront pool, a Jacuzzi and sundeck with water views, an exercise room and a children’s playground. Residents also will have access to a private marina.
