MGE Architects Gets Oncology Center Contract

MIAMI-Oncology Radiation Association has hired MGE Architects to provide architecture and interior design services for a planned renovation and addition to West Dade Radiation Oncology Center in the city.The $2.5-million project is set to be completed by August. The project includes renovating an existing building and building an approximately 13,475-sf radiation oncology center. Interior design features include calming ceiling panels, palm fronds, a curved metal ceiling, furniture grouped in small areas, tropical artwork and ceiling moldings to give the facility a non-institutional feel.”This is the type of renovation, expansion and interior design project that the firm expects to continue to handle in the future,” Jose Estevez, a principal with MGE Architects, notes in a statement. MGE’s other projects have included the Lois Pope LIFE Center at the University of Miami, the Diagnostic and Treatment Center at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami and Concourse J at Miami International Airport.
