Allina has also used Health System Cooperative Laundry, and will consolidate all of its laundry service needs there, she adds. Allina plans to hire Mark Davis & Associates to market and sell the facility, which is about 65 years old.
Several factors contributed to the decision to close, including the need to upgrade the facility and ability of the co-op laundry to handle the added load, Calhoun explains. Allina is looking to place some of the affected workers at other jobs in its system, and the state of Minnesota office of dislocated workers is also working with them.
