Barr-John Entertainment & Investments LP of Houston, a music and film distributor, took down 11,817 sf for a consolidation of several area offices, according to Charles Scoville with the Houston office of Grubb & Ellis Co. The firm has penciled July 15 as the move-in date into the 179,061-sf building.

SJ Bashen Corp., a Houston-based human resources consultant, renewed a 12,056-sf lease for its four-year office.

The building is 82% occupied at a quoted rent of $17.50 per sf. Scoville says the new absorption has landed in a hole emptied several years ago by Santa Fe Energy, which at one time occupied the majority of the 24-year-old building. Scoville and Steve Rocher, also with Grubb & Ellis' Houston, represented the building owner, Unilev Management.
