Prestige Set to Start $10M Retail Development

BATTLE GROUND, WA-Construction begins this week on a mixed-use development near here at the northeast corner of State Route 503 and 199th Street. The 70,000-sf project by Prestige Development will include an 18,000-sf movie theater and about 42,000 sf of retail and commercial space. Prestige president Elie Kassab tells GlobeSt.com that his company will develop and operate the theater and about 25,000 sf of the retail and commercial space. The remaining space is divided among four pad sites that will be sold. About half of Kassab’s retail and commercial space has been leased to Rose’s Deli & Bakery, Bombe Gelato & Ice Cream, Gentle Dental and Nails by Vivian. Negotiations are currently under way with two national tenants, says Kassab. The two pads fronting SR 503 have been tied up, one by a Boston’s the Gourmet Pizza franchise and the other by a credit union. The other two pad sites remain available, says Kassab.The development will be called Gardner Center in deference to Dick and Betty Gardner, who sold Kassab the land for the development. The general contractor for the project is LCG/Pence Construction of Portland. The theater, which will have eight screens, is slated to open in April 2005.
