The foodservice company will break ground in the fall on its 46.3-acre campus at 1390 Enclave Parkway. One structure will deliver in 2006 with the second building and the renovation ticketed for completion in 2007.

John M. Palizza, Sysco's assistant treasurer, tell GlobeSt.com that the designs--12 stories and eight stories--are still on the drawing boards of a Houston-based team, HOK Architects, Kendall/Heaton & Associates and Kirksey. Local real estate giant, Hines, was named developer. The engineering team, also all from Houston, consists of Haynes Whaley Associates, IA Naman + Associates and Walter P. Moore & Associates.

In a press release, Richard J. Schneiders, Sysco's chairman and CEO, says the rapid growth of 151 distribution locations in the US and Canada "has resulted in the need for our firm to consider long-term space requirements for our corporate office." Sysco will house 1,000 employees in the finished project.
