BOMA Houston Scores Triple Win at International Conference

HOUSTON-BOMA Houston gets major bragging rights for the TOBY Awards this year, bringing home three awards for the first time in its history. The picks of the day were the Esperson Buildings, 2450 Holcombe Building and Granite Towers.

HOUSTON-The Building Owners & Managers Association of Houston was a major winner at the recent international congress and show in in Toronto, Ontario.

The local chapter of BOMA won in three TOBY categories. This is the first time since the year 2000 that BOMA Houston brought home more than one award and first in its history to tuck away three awards. TOBY winners are recognized for excellence in office building management in specific categories of building size or type.

The 570,444-sf Esperson Buildings in Houston’s CBD won the historical building category. Donald H. Fischer of Transwestern Commercial Services nominated the “His and Her” towers at 808 Travis and 808 Walker streets. The 32-story Niels Esperson building rose in 1927 and the 19-story Mellie Esperson Building went up in 1941 as an annex. The office complex is owned by a partnership of the Swit Co. of San Francisco and DRA Advisors LLC of New York City.
