Construction Begins on 220,000-SF Cambridge Building

CAMBRIDGE, MA-Boston Properties is breaking ground on the development of Seven Cambridge Center, a 220,000-sf, seven-story research building. The site, which is currently a parking lot, is the last parcel in Cambridge Center, a 2.7 million sf master-planned mixed-use project located at the center of Kendall Square.

CAMBRIDGE, MA-Boston Properties is breaking ground on the development of Seven Cambridge Center, a 220,000-sf, seven-story research building. Massachusetts Institute of Technology has entered into a long-term lease with Boston Properties for the space.

The Broad Institute, a partnership between MIT, Harvard and affiliated hospitals, and the Whitehead Institute for Biomedical Research, will relocate to the building from 320 Charles St. The institute was established in 2003 to create tools for genomic medicine.
