Located in the Lexington Park area of St. Mary's County, Lexington Manor consists of a series of duplex structures that were originally developed in the 1940s as military housing. The funds will also go toward relocating the residents who currently live in the buildings to other affordable housing locations.

"The Lexington Manor Redevelopment Project is another example of the state's commitment to provide decent, safe, affordable workforce housing for Marylanders," Department of Housing and Community Development Secretary Victor L. Hoskins notes. The remaining $5 million for the endeavor is coming from St. Mary's County. Plans are still in the works for the remaining 34 acres at the site.
