Vaughn Collaborative, based in Washington Crossing, PA, is the architect, and Dublin, PA-based Walter Brucker & Co. is general contractor. The materials will match the current building's stone exterior and slate roofing, and the expansion includes a new reception area, two public meeting rooms, and increased space for the police and planning and preservation departments along with updated computer equipment.

Area design professionals and artisans are involved in the project. Among them are interior designer Cristian Blackwell, Mira Nakashima of renowned George Nakashima Woodworkers, artist Sandra Eliot and custom builder Michael Warden.

The area's rising population necessitated the expansion. John Eichert, chairman of the township's board of supervisors, says the new facility "will clearly be more user-friendly to the staff and residents." Completion is scheduled for Labor Day 2005. During construction, township staff and police will operate from temporary office space across from the building's parking lot.
