ROSEMOUNT, MN-The city council recently approved a major new development plan for its Downtown area and plans for 624 housing units on the site of an old foundry. The redevelopment plan includes re-routing streets, buying and moving businesses, putting a new library into an old church and changing the look of the 13-square-block area.

The 113-acre site was previously home to the Brockway glass factory. The project, led by Contractor Property Developers Co., is a major expansion of the quantity and variety of housing within Rosemount.

“These two projects are going to help define the future of this community in a very positive way,” says Mayor Bill Droste. “Developers have been indicating a lot of interest in this project before we’ve even had something for them to respond to.”
