The rezoning of the Tech Commons site was approved this past December. The property was originally developed by Rose Associates LLC as a high-tech center, but the recession forced the developer to rethink its plan.
General Growth recently announced that it secured two anchor tenants for the expansion--Neiman Marcus and Nordstrom's. The expansion also includes two condominium buildings, but a spokesperson for the town tells GlobeSt.com that General Growth's current application did not include the residential component and the approval was just for the mall. The developer had originally planned a Ritz-Carlton hotel to be built on top of the expansion, but said because of the current difficulty in securing financing for hotel projects, that portion of the plan was put on hold.
