Another 178,000-SF Project Pushing Out at the Port

MORGAN'S POINT, TX-Granite Properties begins work on a twin to a fully leased first phase in the Barbour's Cut Business Park. With port properties at a premium, the project's rising with more prospects than space, says Granite's man on the ground in Houston.

MORGAN’S POINT, TX-With interest running high for Port of Houston space, Granite Properties is off and running on a 178,000-sf second phase in the Barbour’s Cut Business Park. In fact, there are more prospects than there is space.

Scott Martin, managing director in Houston for the Dallas-based development firm, says there are numerous tenant prospects for the warehouse distribution project, a twin to a fully leased first phase. “We’ll eventually have to decide who ultimately will make the best fit,” he tells GlobeSt.com.

The second building, like the first, will rise on an eight-acre tract along East Barbour’s Cut Boulevard, with direct access to the container terminal and right across the street from the Port of Houston’s offloading staging areas. “It’s a piece of property that many people had tried to obtain over the years,” Martin explains.
