Will Hurt, managing partner of Randolph Centre Street LLC, says Randolph will operate The Rhino at Harmonie Park, a 126-seat restaurant that is expected to feature live music six days a week, including outdoor concerts on Wednesday evenings. City officials believe the Rhino's arrival will help revitalize recent closures in Harmonie Park, including Intermezzo, an upscale Italian restaurant, and Harmonie Pointe Grille, as well as the nightspot, Cayenne & Chocolate Bar.
"We've seen growth in the downtown sports and entertainment district, and people are patronizing new and established restaurants," Hurt says. The Rhino will feature entrees priced from $8-$20, including crab cakes, steak, seafood and desserts. A wine and cigar bar will be located in a lower level.
Dave Schervish, president of Schervish Vogel Development Group, which owns and manages several buildings in Harmonie Park, says The Rhino will join other additions in the coming months. They include the possible reopening of Intermezzo on Randolph Street, the opening of a Cuban restaurant named Vincente's in the Library Lofts building on Library Street, and a Como's Italian restaurant on Woodward near Grand Circus Park, by summer 2005.
