ARDEN HILLS, MN-A local nonprofit organization that was proposing offices and multifamily rental units on a high-traffic corner has decided to withdraw its proposal, at least until the neighborhood is more comfortable with the plans. Presbyterian Homes president Dan Lindh says his organization has decided not to proceed with a plan to build a two-story mixed-use building on a corner in Arden Hills where New Brighton Boulevard, Lake Johanna Boulevard, County Road D and Fairview Avenue North intersect.

The proposal, which would require the rezoning of one property, is for a two-story mixed-use building with 6,000 sf of office space on the ground floor and apartments on the top level, although some could be on the ground level as well. Presbyterian Homes scaled back its plans from 20 apartments to no more than nine, but that did not satisfy nearby residents.
