BEVERLY, MA-The condo craze that is gripping developers in Boston and the inner suburbs is extending out here where two projects totaling 74 units were approved. The former Edwards School is being redeveloped by Symes Associates into a 28-unit condo building. The developer was chosen after it responded to the city’s request for proposals and has purchased the property, which was rezoned to allow a residential project.

Roof Investors bought the former Pisani’s market on Rantoul Street and plans to redevelop the property into a 46-unit condo building called Pleasant Court Apartments. Connie Kennedy, a representative of the town’s planning department, tells GlobeSt.com that the project’s site plan review was approved and it received the special permit it needs to begin construction. The project will include an 89-car underground garage.
