Pew Center Takes 28,000 SF at Trophy Building

WASHINGTON, DC-The Pew Research center has signed on the dotted line for 28,000 sf of office space in the 400,000-sf office building at 1615 L St. The opinion research group made the commitment under a 12-year lease orchestrated by real estate services firm Cassidy & Pinkard on behalf of property owner Beacon Capital Partners LLC. West, Lane & Schlager represented Pew, which is taking on the space to facilitate an expansion and consolidation of its local offices.

Pew’s new digs are located in the Golden Triangle area of the city’s central business district. Built 20 years ago, 1615 L St. boasts class A status and is home to such big-name tenants as international communications firm Fleishman Hillard Inc., which occupies 65,500 sf, and global communication consultancy APCO Worldwide Inc., which makes its home in a 51,500-sf space. Financial terms of Pew’s lease have not been disclosed; however, Cassidy & Pinkard markets the space for $34 to $43 per sf.
