Krasnow tells GlobeSt.com Gallagher will "mine the data fields that are going on." He will be responsible for monitoring and coordinating brokerage resources for business development opportunities. "We're going to have more proactive management." Krasnow says that Gallagher's hiring is part of strategy that has been percolating for awhile. The brokers have been undergoing a technological training process over the past 12 to 18 months to acclimate them with a tracking system to put contacts into a "pipeline." Krasnow has been overseeing the efforts until now, but feels with the addition of Gallagher, the response will be more immediate and opportunistic.

A key aspects of John's role will be to establish requirements for several professional groups including research, brokerage, strategic agency services and marketing, to improve information sharing and create greater efficiency in offering business-development resources to all. He will also assist in coordinating training for associate-level brokers as well as in the recruitment process.

C&W also welcomed back Michael Burgio, who has returned to the fold to serve as an executive vice president, following a two-year stint with CBRE and Insignia/ESG. Burgio was one of Cushman's Top 10 brokerage professionals in the nation on two occasions, and was among its Top 40 brokerage professionals for 13 consecutive years.

"His business development sense is among the best in the industry and we expect from day one that he'll add value for us, and most importantly, for our clients," says Bruce Mosler, C&W's president and chief executive-elect.

Burgio, who originally joined the firm in 1984, focused on representing large, nonprofit institutions during the past few years. Some notable transactions include a 210,000-sf lease renewal for New York Presbyterian Hospital and a 107,000-sf lease for Beth Israel Hospital.
