Breakfast Chain Eyes S. Florida Sites

MIAMI-The Prakas Group, a full-service commercial real estate company based in Boca Raton, has been named the exclusive broker for Florida for Tutti Frutti Dejeuners, a high-end breakfast chain that plans to enter the US beginning in Florida.Tutti Frutti Dejeuners, based in Canada, will be called Breakfast Basket in the US. The Prakas Group was hired to find four or five 4,000-sf restaurant sites in South Florida in the next year, according to Athan Prakas, president of the Prakas Group. The company is considering sites in Weston, Boca Raton, Boynton Beach and Wellington.In Wellington, the company is looking at an existing restaurant site, where it is in the final phases of negotiating a lease, and a letter of intent has been signed. The company is close on another site in Boca Raton. Details on that site were not disclosed. Besides South Florida, the company plans to expand statewide. Tutti Frutti was established in 1992 by Dimitrios Pentefountas and his sons John and Kosta, CEO, in Laval, Quebec. The company has 12 franchise sites in Canada, with four more to open this year.
