Multifamily Permits Soar in First Half of '04

DENVER-Permits are pulled for 1,236 multifamily units through June, compared with 798 through June 2003, according to the Home Builders Association of Metropolitan Denver. Almost all the permit activity in June is in Denver and Douglas counties.

DENVER-Developers pulled 763 permits in June in the Denver metropolitan area, a whopping 259.9% more than the 212 pulled in June 2003, shows the latest Home Builders Association of Metropolitan Denver report. And the report shows that in the first six months of the year, permit activity rose by 54.88%, with permits pulled for 1,236 multifamily units, compared with 798 through June 2003.

“It’s pretty striking,” Mike Rinner of the Genesis Group tells GlobeSt.com. Rinner notes that almost all the permit activity in June was in two counties–Denver and Douglas.
