Rizzo, whose companies include Columbia Homes and GTR Oakland Properties LLC, bought the course July 20 from Beaver Creek Golf Links LLC. Terms of the deal, handled by Southfield-based Insite Commercial Group, were not released.

With Rizzo's involvement, the 146-acre course on Stoney Creek Road between Rochester and Lake George roads will remain open, says Mark Tava, general manager of the course. "I'd imagine they're planningon being here for a good 10 years," Tava speculated, citing planned investment by the new owners. The course opened more than a decade ago.

Renovations planned for the clubhouse, estimated to be 7,500 sf to 8,000 sf, include painting, installation of new carpet and upgrade of bathrooms and the kitchen. Parts of the course also may be redesigned.
