"Up until now, the company has had little penetration in this market, leaving Washingtonians to rely heavily on the Internet and a toll-free number to take advantage of Liberty's travel planning services," notes Bob Schwenger, JBGR vice president of leasing. "We are working to change that, however, as we actively identify potential retail spaces throughout the metro area that would benefit from a Liberty Travel office."

One of Liberty Travel's stipulations for its new sites is that the property must be located in a high-traffic retail area, and Gaithersburg square fits that bill. The 26-year-old shopping center, which underwent renovations in 1995, sits at the well-traveled intersection of North Frederic Ave. and Perry Parkway. Bed, Bath & Beyond, Borders Books & Music and Ross Dress for Less anchor the property.
