The Middlefield, CT-based company is a supplier of equipment for the semiconductor industry. Calls to Zyog were not returned by deadline but according to local published reports, the 120,000-sf facility has been vacant for two years since Zygo closed its TeraOptix unit, in September 2002.
"The weak local real estate market for clean room space has continued and this agreement reflects the culmination of many months of diligent marketing efforts," says Bruce Robinson, Zygo's CEO. "This sale will mark the completion of our exit from the telecommunications segment of our business."
