SUTTER CREEK, CA-The would-be developers of an 833-acre resort here have submitted their master plan to city officials for review. As proposed, the Gold Rush Golf Resort would contain an 18-hole golf course, a 300-unit resort/timeshare complex, a 60-room hotel and about 1,000 single family homes on land known to locals as Noble Ranch. The eastern boundary and main entrance to the project is Ridge Road. The southern boundary is Highway 88. A second entrance to the project would be located off Valley View Drive in Sutter Hill. In addition to the housing and recreation, development would include a new police sub-station and a new city fire station site. Open space would include two neighborhood park sites of at least two acres each and about 300 acres of permanent conservation area. The developer is Sutter Creek Partners LLC, which includes among others Bill Bounce, John Telischak and Troy Claveran. Neither a representative or the developer or contract city planner Bruce Baracco could be reached for comment. The project is intended to be built in phases over the course of several years. As part of a proposed agreement with the city, the golf course would irrigate its fairways with tertiary treated water from the city’s wastewater treatment plant. An environmental impact statement is required for the project. The report could take as long as one year to complete, but the developers have said they hope to see the report complete by next spring and begin construction on the golf course and infrastructure by the end of 2005.
