Pharmaceutical Co. Doubles HQ with Sublet

GERMANTOWN, MD-It has not yet been a year since Advancis Pharmaceuticals Corp. relocated to its new 62,000-sf headquarters building at Seneca Meadows Corporate Park, but the company has already expanded its occupancy at the 156-acre business compound by subleasing an additional 53,000 sf. Advancis, which keeps its corporate office and research space in the building at 20425 Seneca Meadows Pkwy., is taking the entire structure at 20451 Seneca Meadows Pkwy. off the hands of former occupant, genomics firm Large Scale Proteomics.

Located near Rte. 118 and Father Hurley Blvd. along the I-270 Biotech Corridor, Seneca Meadows is also home to Avalon Pharmaceuticals Inc., which occupies 55,000 sf at 20358 Seneca Meadows Pkwy. Advancis’ sublease is for a six-and-one-half-year term, but the company is making pans with property owner Minkoff Development Corp. to extend the expiration date to coincide with the 2013 expiration of its original lease.
