Transwestern Adds Miami Office in National Expansion Push

MIAMI-Former local Cushman & Wakefield brokers Peter R. Harrison and Darryl Robinson are leading transaction management for the company in the city. Michael Griffith, formerly with CB Richard Ellis in Dallas, also has joined the new office.

MIAMI-As part of its national expansion efforts, Transwestern Commercial Services, a privately held, full-service commercial real estate company based in Houston, has added an office in the city.Heading the office, located at 1221 Brickell Ave., are several veteran real estate executives. Jim Ledbetter, the company’s Southeast regional president, led its expansion efforts in Florida and recruited the Miami team. That team consists of former Miami Cushman & Wakefield brokers Peter R. Harrison and Darryl Robinson, who will lead the company’s transaction management in South Florida. The two have 40 years of industry experience combined.Harrison opened the local office of Cushman & Wakefield in 1979. During his 25-year career with the brokerage, he stepped down twice from management to broker deals. After establishing that office, he remained branch manager until 1985, when he returned to brokering. In December 1997, he became manager in South Florida again. Robinson and Harrison have completed lease and sales deals in South Florida, as well as elsewhere in the state and country.Michael Griffith, formerly with CB Richard Ellis in Dallas, also has joined Transwestern’s Miami team. He has more than 20 years’ experience in business development and property management. Griffith’s past positions have included overseeing property management services for Florida and the Caribbean for Insignia.Ledbetter says in a statement that the Miami team plans to “recruit talent heavily in the market” to build the services platform that encompasses tenant representation, investment sales, property management and agency leasing services.
