"Basically location and space were big things for us," says Ellen Harten, Burlington district manager. "This new store is just so spacious and nice that we couldn't pass up the opportunity."

The old facility was 35,000 sf compared to the 84,000 sf in the present store, allowing for additional departments including the popular Baby Depot Department and shoe department. "This new location affords us the opportunity to offer a better selection and more value to consumers," says Stacey Pino, spokeswoman for Burlington Coat Factory.

The 55 employees working at the St. Clair Shores location all moved to the Roseville store and, in addition, the company layered on another 35 workers to bolster the work force.
