CHF will occupy the entire ninth floor of the 20-story, 913,000-sf art deco building in the heart of an area known for its home-furnishings industry presence. The firm also leases approximately 18,000 sf at 475 10th Ave. for its Donna Karan Home Division.
Daniel Horowitz, senior managing director of Studley and the broker who represented CHF, says the company enjoys prominent building signage at the entrance. "It also has the built in equity of being in the same location for the past 15 years and being a familiar destination for its clients--home furnishing buyers from across the country." Building owner SL Green was represented in-house by Steven Durels, senior vice president and director of leasing, and Amy Schustek, vice president.
Robert Futterman, chairman and CEO of Robert K. Futterman & Associates LLC, and Ariel Schuster, senior director, with RKF represented the building ownership in the Family Inada transaction. Motoko Ueno Culp of Redac Inc. represented the tenant. Family Inada will open its US flagship store on the ground floor later this year.
Family Inada manufacturers a luxury shiatsu massage chair called the Inada Chair. The company was founded in Japan in 1962, introducing the world's first therapeutic massage chair. Neighboring tenants include Beverly Feldman, Bulgari, Louis Feraud, Piaget and Mikimoto.
