No construction timetable has been set for the new office headquarters development. Construction is expected to begin late this year on the two-story, 109,000-sf center will be located in the Arboretum Business Park at the southeast corner of Highway 5 and Highway 41 and will include a new 33,000-sf outdoor pool, according to the Eden Prairie-based health and fitness center operator. The Chanhassen City Council recently approved the development plans.

Life Time Fitness unveiled its plans for a new headquarters campus just two months after it went public by raising $183 million in an initial stock offering. The company plans to open six new centers this year and another six in 2005. Designed as one of the Life Time's large, all-in-one sports, professional fitness, family recreation and resort/spa centers, the new location will expand the number of Minnesota centers to 15. The company operates a total of 35 centers in eight states. Besides Minnesota, they include Arizona, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, Texas and Virginia.
