GlobeSt.com UPDATE: Life Time Fitness Says No Decision Yet on HQ

CHANHASSEN, MN-The health and fitness center company plans to build two 100,000-sf office buildings, but has yet to decide if it will move its headquarters to the 23-acre site. The company will begin development later this year of a 109,000-sf center on the same site.

CHANHASSEN, MN-Life Time Fitness, a national operator of large and distinctive health and fitness centers, confirms it plans to build a new health club here, but says it has not decided if it will move its headquarters to two new office buildings it has planned on the same campus. Life Time, now based at 6442 City West Pkwy. in Eden Prairie, has acquired a 23-acre property as part of the Arboretum Business Park at the southeast corner of Highway 5 and Highway 41.

The company plans to build a pair of three-story 100,000-sf office buildings there but has yet to set a construction timetable for the projects. The company says it has yet to make a final determination as to how the buildings would be used. Moving its headquarters there is one possibility, says Jason Thunstrom, a spokesman for Life Time. “It’s an option, but until the company makes a decision on that, that’s not something we intend to disclose,” Thunstrom says.
