"The I-275 corridor continues to be a very bright spot in the metro Detroit area real estate market," says Larry Hadley, chairman of the UM-ULI forum. "It provides a unique mixture of traditional suburban downtowns such as Plymouth, Northville and Farmington, as well as newer developments in communities like Novi and Canton. Of course, growth is a topic on virtually everyone's lips at all levels of life in our country. Growth presents tremendous opportunities and problems. How do we foster growth? How do we manage growth and how do we benefit from it? Those are the issues we will explore at the forum."
This year's forum will begin at Summit on the Park in Canton on Oct. 27, where SEMCOG director Paul Tait will lead a discussion on financial issues and challenges facing the various municipalities along the corridor. Other events in the two-day program include a narrated bus tour of various properties, announcement of several real estate award winners and a discussion on the development of the Visteon Village project, led by Stacy Fox, senior vice president and general counsel for Visteon.
