The company is investing about $1.8 million in the expansion and $1.8 million in new equipment, says chief executive officer Willis Manter.

Manter says his company worked with the Economic Development Alliance of St. Clair County to process property tax abatements from the township and to secure financing through Standard Federal Bank. "We are all pleased that a family-owned business like Manter Technologies continues to grow and prosper in our community," says Doug Alexander, executive director of the EDA.

Manter says the expansion will create 25 new jobs, adding to the 160 now existing at the company. Manter creates metal stampings for the automotive industry.
