DC Ready for Baseball With $400M Park Proposal

WASHINGTON, DC-The DC Sports and Entertainment Commission unveils plans for a new baseball stadium to District officials. The proposed $400-million baseball park would house the soon-to-relocate Montreal Expos team--that is, if Major League Baseball chooses Washington, DC as the team's new home.

WASHINGTON, DC-Plans were put on the table for a new $400-million baseball stadium to house the Montreal Expos, as Major League Baseball prepares to relocate the team to an as yet undecided location. The District of Columbia has been the rumored top choice for the last six weeks.

The DC Sports and Entertainment Commission presented the proposal to District officials this week, and will now play the waiting game until MLB’s owners’ relocation committee makes a decision. The announcement is expected by Oct. 1.
