Nipro Diabetes Systems, which manufactures insulin pumps for Type I Diabetes, has 30 employees at the park in a long-term lease. The company's office and warehouse space is located in MPC-22-B at the park.
The park, which would not disclose the value of the lease, created a unique deal for the company, according to a park spokeswoman. "They created flex space in a warehouse building for them," she says. Based on recent warehouse space rates alone in this Broward County submarket, the lease is estimated to be valued at more than $1.3 million.
"To land the headquarters of this international company is quite a coup for us," Andrew Ansin, vice president of Sunbeam Development, the park's developer, says in a statement. "We've seen an increase in leasing activity overall, but particularly in the medical industry."
Other healthcare companies in the park include Memorial Healthcare System, Central Admixture Pharmacy Services, Option Care, Quest Diagnostics, HCA, Aveva, HeartWare, Apria Healthcare, Vitas, Pentax Precision Instruments, Sunol Molecular and FLA Orthopedics.
Maridee Bell of Sunbeam Development represented the park in the transaction, and Chris McFarlane and Adam Kanter represented Nipro Diabetes Systems. The Miramar Park of Commerce has more than four million sf completed and is the biggest corporate park in the county.
