The city's Department of Neighborhood Development sold the property at 154 Berkeley St. in the Back Bay for $14 million. Those funds were used to create and preserve affordable housing in Boston through a new housing strategy.

Jurys Doyle Hotel Group PLC, a publicly held international hotel operator headquartered in Dublin, Ireland, provided funds for the renovation of the 1920s historical landmark. The company holds a long-term ground lease and provides operations management.

Locally based Saunders Hotel Group currently owns and operates two hotels in the Back Bay--the Copley Square Hotel and the Lenox Hotel. The Saunders Hotel Group purchased and developed the 154 Berkeley St. property and is serving as asset manager.
