She notes that while "we would have sold it without having a Wyndham brand on it," Ireland wished for the property to remain a Wyndham brand resort. Wyndham says it will use net proceeds from the resort sale to pay debt.

The Ireland Cos. is converting the resort into 252 luxury residences. The renovations also will include the addition of a 48,000-sf Golden Door spa, Wyndham's biggest spa and the first such brand on the East Coast.The units are being offered for sale, but owners also will have the option to be included in Wyndham's rental program. Units will be fully furnished and range from 869 sf to 1,291 sf. They are priced from $324,000 to $465,000. South Florida-based Fortune International is handling sales and marketing of the resort through its Miami corporate offices and its sales office here.
