Quaker Fabric Will Lease 600,000-SF Facility

FALL RIVER, MA-Quaker Fabric Corp. decides to lease, rather than buy, the 600,000-sf industrial facility at 81 Commerce Dr. The building is situated on nearly 34 acres in the north end of the city and would have sold for $21 million.

FALL RIVER, MA-Quaker Fabric Corp. decided to lease the 600,000-sf industrial facility at 81 Commerce Dr. The company entered into an agreement this past July to either buy or lease the building, which is situated on nearly 34 acres in the north end of the city. The property would have sold for $21 million.

Larry Liebenow, Quaker’s president and CEO says that the company provided the seller with official notice of its decision to terminate the purchase and sale agreement. “Our proposed leasing arrangement should allow us to realize much of the reduction in our annual long-term operating costs that we had hoped to achieve by buying,” Liebenow adds.
