APCO Takes 62,000 SF at One Metro Center

WASHINGTON, DC-APCO Worldwide Inc. has signed a lease for 62,000 sf of space at the 416,000-sf One Metro Center. The global communication consultancy company’s commitment to One Metro paves the way for the relocation of its worldwide headquarters from its current 51,000-sf location at 1615 L St. Terms of APCO’s lease agreement with property owner Tishman Speyer Properties have not been disclosed; however the real estate company markets space at the class A corner office property for $30 to $36 per-sf, according to Black’s Guide. Real estate services firm Studley represented APCO.

One Metro Center sits atop a Hecht’s Department store at the city’s well-traveled Metro Center station. The building rises 12-stories high, including the Hecht’s building beneath it, with the office space beginning on the seventh floor. APC will make its home on the seventh and eighth floors of the structure. “APCO’s decision to move will allow the company to experience uninhibited growth opportunities,” says Studley vice chairman Lois Zambo.
