OCEANSIDE, CA-Construction is under way on the Oceanside Terraces condo project, as Janez Development has broken ground on the $33-million development that is rising on Mission Avenue and Cleveland Street here. Located just four blocks from the beach, the six-story project is slated to include 38 condominium units with ocean views. The condos will be located on the top four floors of Oceanside Terraces, with unit sizes to range from 1,700 sf to 2,700 sf. It will also consist of 23,000 sf of retail and office space on the first and second floors, and two levels of subterranean parking. Amenities at Oceanside Terraces will include storage units on the second floor, as well as a podium level on the third floor that will have extensive landscaping and areas that can be used for barbecues or parties. Construction services for the project are being provided by San Diego-based Ledcor SD Construction Inc., part of the Ledcor Group of Cos. The development is expected to be built-out within 15 months. Janez Development unveiled plans for Oceanside Terraces this past summer, which was when the San Diego-based affiliate of Janez Properties procured development rights from the project’s former developer Southland Land Co. At that time, Janez Properties’ managing director Ron Douglas said he thought of the development as “a unique opportunity to be part of what we see as a considerable change happening along the shoreline of Oceanside.” The project is rising within the Seaside Redevelopment District, which is a nine-block urban redevelopment area in Oceanside.
