German Fuel Trader Expands Presence in Danbury

DANBURY, CT-Rwe Nukem Inc. is extending its lease at the former Union Carbide headquarters building at 39 Old Ridgebury Rd. here. The firm, which is headquartered in Germany and trades in fuel used for nuclear power generation, signed a new lease that extends its commitment at the 1.2-million-sf building through 2016. In addition, the firm has expanded its offices at the Corporate Center property from 8,740 sf to 10,388 sf.

Rwe Nukem will continue to occupy space on the first floor of the building, which is owned by Sunbelt Management, a joint venture of Union Carbide Corp. and Danbury Buildings Co. “The Carbide Center offers the kind of amenities and tenant services that help to make our employees more productive,” says Fred Schubert, vice president of finance of Rwe Nukem.
