The building went on the market this past spring, after AmericanStudent Assistance, a non-profit organization, relocated to 150,000sf at 100 Cambridge St. The 10-story building is located at thecorner of Berkeley and Stuart streets and consists of 79,000 sf ofoffice space, and 25,000 sf of first and second floor retail. Itwas built in 1925, and was formerly known as the Salada TeaBuilding. Grill 23, a restaurant, occupies the ground and secondfloors.

"While we have grown to become a leading international propertyand casualty insurer, we have been proud to call Boston our homesince we started here more than 90 years ago," says Edmund F.Kelly, Liberty Mutual Group chairman, president and CEO. Thebuilding is located across the street from Liberty's corporateheadquarters, which Kelly notes, makes it possible for the companyto continue expanding its presence in the city.

Liberty Mutual plans to invest in renovations to the building'supper floors and use them to support current and future growth inits operations. The company became the eighth leading personalinsurer in the country when it purchased Prudential's US propertyand casualty business at the end of last year.
