Michigan Guard Opens $24M Building

LANSING, MI-The advanced ground-vehicle maintenance facility houses 100 full-time employees and 80 additional part-time guard members.

LANSING, MI-The Michigan National Guard has moved into a new 144,500-sf, $24-million maintenance center. The combined support maintenance shop will house 100 full-time employees and 80 additional part-time guard members.

The advanced ground-vehicle maintenance facility features state-of-the-art heating and ventilation controls, says Major Gen. Tom Cutler, the commander of the Michigan Guard. By the end of the year, more than half of the Michigan Army and Air National Guard’s more than 11,200 members will have been called to active duty at least once in the past three years.
