The Uptown Developments Group says restaurateur George Falaras has already agreed to build a restaurant and brew pub within the three buildings on S. Saginaw. In addition, Rowe Engineering has shown interest in moving its offices to the site, and negotiations are under way to throw a few apartments into the development mix. "This project is so large. It will bring 220 employees Downtown. That's quite a few for the first time in many, many years," says Phil Shaltz, of Uptown Developments.
The plans coincide with renovations currently under way just down the street on the upper floors of the Republic Bank Building. The bank building plans call for the construction of 16 loft apartments.
