45-Unit Senior Housing Project Opens

BOSTON-Action for Boston Community Development completes its development of a 45-unit senior housing complex at 198 Geneva Ave. The city awarded ownership of the parcel to the development company in 1996. The $6.6 million project is on the site of the former Boston Ice Co.

BOSTON-Action for Boston Community Development completed its development of a 45-unit senior affordable housing complex at 198 Geneva Ave. in the neighborhood of Dorchester. The $6.6 million project is on the site of the former Boston Ice Co.

The city awarded ownership of the parcel–which includes 198 Geneva Ave. as well as 22 Beechwood St.–to Action for Boston Community Development in 1996 after the city conducted an extensive environmental cleanup of the site. The development company constructed 45, one-bedroom units on the site. The project also features community, conference, sitting and exercise rooms.
